Monumental Ideas in Miniature Books Project I & II
In 2009 and 2011, I was invited to contribute to two consecutive miniature book projects entitled Monumental Ideas in Miniature Books to be exhibited at the Southern Graphics Council Conference, an annual meeting of printmakers in the US. The size limitation was 4” x 5” x 1” when closed. Since my Natural Affinities series and my Courtship Colour Studies were both based on themes related to the ‘monumental idea’ of evolution, I printed those images at a reduced scale and constructed books for this exciting initiative. After the conferences, the miniature art book exhibitions toured internationally over the next two years to 45 different institutions throughout the world including US, Argentina, Spain, Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, India.
